and yet an other great loco from you guys, Runs smooth and the paint job is Fab second 1 to my collection and 3 more on order from you. Keep up the good work.
Having spent some time with the model today I can honestly say the level of detail is stunning. It's very reliable and the inclusion of the stay alive is very welcome. The prefitted speaker sounds good. Worth noting that this model really needs a Loksound decoder to function properly.
This is my second purchase of the Accurascale Class 31 Diesel Locomotive. The detail on this model is of a very high standard and it has a very attractive EWS livery. The model had sufficient packaging to avoid damage in transit. The delivery time from DPD was excellent. Overall, I am very impressed with my latest purchase from Accurascale.
This is my first purchase of the Accurascale Class 31 Diesel Locomotive and as with previous purchases of the Class 37 Diesel, this model looks very impressive. The packaging was very good and the delivery time from DPD was excellent. The model came with a booklet that outlined the history of this class of locomotive. Overall, I am very pleased with my latest purchase from Accurascale.
This model is very much a "rule " purchase and not my usual modelling era, but after seeing the loco in real life on the NYMR I had to purchase this! It is a fantastic highly detailed model and the sound is second to none. Brings back memories of the trip on the NYMR!
Brilliant model yet again from Accurascale - thank you!
Loved these! Ive been looking for a crew for engines for ages, but always have had to paint them which im not the best at. Not with these though!
Ordered upon the announcement and the wait was well worth it! The model is fantastic and really happy with finish. Really impressed with the amount of additional detail that can be optionally fitted too. Another great release.
If 31s are your thing, this is perfect. I already owned three if the first batch, this being the only non-blue model I had ordered, so I knew what to expect. However, their are subtle improvements (no holes in the bogies for example) and this livery just suits the 31.
Is this the best rendition of a model of a Class 31 in OO? Having a number of the later Hornby models, by comparison the Accurascale model is streets ahead with its superior paint finish, detailing, running and looks.
I am going to have to save up to try and fund a couple more of them to add to the collection.
Excellent packaging set the scene, built the excitement. The loco does not disappoint once down on the track. Very nice detail and decoration. I ran it in for about 2 hours and its initial slight stutter disappeared. But was it really the loco, or my track needed a good running. It certainly doesn't disappoint and can go at a cracking pace on my DC express track. I will chip it for DCC for branch line work once they're in stock at Acurascale. For the low cost its one of the best value models I've seen. So I bought another in SR Black.
Very good rendition of the the livery applied to this loco for the Toton Open day 1998, which I attended my main reason for attending was the the first 66 locos which were also on display the class 31 model is to very high standard, highly recommended there models and expecting the same standard when the class 89 and class 50’s arrive.
Saw this loco at the Toronto Open Day 1998, the model is up to the very high standards of Accurascale and the livery rendition is spot on the class 31 is a very good model and at a very good price compared to other manufacturers 31 and a better quality model 10 out of 10 in my opinion.
There was something satisfying about Network Rail test trains when headed by a yellow locomotive in the noughties and tenies, and wasn't the class 31 eye catching. I am no class 31 expert and thus cannot comment on the accuracy of the model, I do listen to experts though and consensus is that the model largely justifies the prototype. As I said to Bachmann, who ever out of them or Accurascale...produces a yellow 31 first to market gets my order... so Accurascale got the order. Inclusion of a working fan at a cost effective price is to be commended.
Lack of 5 stars? The packaging is shockingly wasteful. As we are all lovers of public transport we have a moral duty to the planet. Excess packaging equals unnecessary carbon emission. Considering the same factory produces models in far more efficient packaging, without any damage occurring. Accurascale really do need to do better here.
Please note - I am being paid 100 points to write a review, this however is not affecting my opinion that Accurascale have by all intents and purposes produced a decent model in a striking colour.
